Complaints Management Report
The Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority publishes its Complaints Management Report for the first half of 2019.
In the period from January to June 2019, the ASF received 4,633 complaints, a number close to that recorded in the same period of the previous year. The majority of the complaints were submitted directly to the ASF by email and only around 25% of the complaints were made in the Complaints Book, the latter being sent to the ASF via, above all, the Operators' Portal.
The Non-Life lines presented the highest percentage of complaints (around 89%), with emphasis on motor insurance, which represents around half of the cases closed, reflecting the trend presented in the same period of previous years. In the Life branch and pension funds as a whole, almost all the complaints processes were related to life insurance itself, with "financial insurance" having a very low profile.

ASF Insurance Sector Risk Panel - Q2 2019
The Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority publishes its Insurance Sector Risk Panel for the second quarter of 2019.
The results reflect the increase in volatility in the bond markets, offset by variations in the opposite direction in the categories of profitability and solvency, interconnections and specific non-life insurance risks. In the latter case, special reference should be made to the reduction of the overall rating from high to medium-high, in accordance with the panel's methodology, reflecting the improvements that have been recorded in claims ratios.
