when is my vehicle considered a total loss?

According to law, a vehicle is considered a total loss when one of the following situations happens:

* The vehicle disappeared or is completely destroyed;
* The vehicle's repair isn't possible or not recommended once its security conditions were affected;
* The estimated amount required for the repair, plus the value of the sauvage vehicle, is more than 100% or 120% of the vehicle market current value (100% for vehicles aged less than one year and 120% for vehicles aged  more than two years).

The vehicle's market value corresponds to the value required for its substitution at the accident previous moment.
