Support and Reference – Informs and guides users on the use of the available services and their functioning, assisting in the definition of search strategies, operation and use of the Library information resources.

Consultation and on-site Reading – All the documents available at the unrestricted access areas are eligible for reading and consultation at the facilities by the users, namely:
- Monographs
- Periodicals (with the exception of those on deposit).
Free access documents are shelved and duly identified so users can take them directly for consultation, needless of fulfilling an order form.
Restricted access documents must be requested at the Reception.

Circulation – The loaning of documents for consultation outside the Library or the ASF facilities is allowed to registered users only. The following document types are excluded from the home loan program:
- Periodicals (except for internal readers);
- Special or reserved funds;
- Damaged documents;
- Works bearing an orange label;
- Master and Doctorate theses (unless cleared by the authors).
Duration of the home loan

Inter-Library Borrowing
The Library provides publication loan and photocopying services to other libraries users. This inter-library loan complies with the home loan regulations, except for the return term.

Bibliography Catalogue Consultation – The Library provides an electronic catalogue which allows simple or combined searching of every document fund.

Data base Consultation – Users can operate the search terminals to consult referential or unabridged text data bases, scientific magazines and other information resources related to Insurance and Pension Funds, whether available by subscription or freely accessible.

Document Reproduction – According to intellectual property protection regulations, a self-service photocopying service is available to users for the reproduction of documents belonging to the Library, with the exception of reserved works, damaged documents and academic works (when unauthorized by the authors). At the search terminals, users can also print their search results.
