• Insurance companies must appoint the Customer Ombudsman from among entities or prestigious experts of good repute, to whom complaints that have not been answered in due time by the Manager of Complaints or have not had the outcome intended by the complainant, may be submitted.

• The Ombudsman is a second instance of complaints assessment and may make recommendations to the insurance company, free of charge for the claimant.

• The Ombudsman assesses the complaints submitted to him within 30 days from the date of its receipt, the maximum period extendable to 45 days in cases of particular complexity.
