My vehicle was damaged by an unidentified vehicle. Will the Motor Guarantee Fund compensate me for the damages?

In principle, the answer is no, unless there are significant bodily injuries resulting from the accident.

According to the Portuguese Law, bodily injuries are considered significant when they determine death or inpatient treatment in hospital for seven or more days, temporary total disability for sixty or more days or, equal or superior permanent partial disability of 15%.
